New Favorite Color (well new to me)

Hi,
Well today is such a special day... Why you ask? On today's date in 1928 Mickey Mouse was born!!Walt Disney's first Mickey Mouse cartoon "Steamboat Willie" was released. (Thanks Frances and Historyorb.com) As you can see I am a pretty big Disney freak so this was the day way back in history that started it all. My favorite Walt Disney quote, "I hope we never lose sight of one thing, that is was all started by a mouse". Pretty amazing to think of it that way. Well enough of the history lesson and my Disney obsession.... Today's card was so much fun! I am loving the new colors (well old returning In colors) but they are all new to me since I wasn't around for them. I love Pacific Point. It is rich and versatile, I am using it all over the place!! Here are the supplies for this card:
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Blueberry Crisp DSP (pg. 174)
Stamp Set(s): Artistic Etchings (pg. 125)
Ink: Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon (pg. 191), Clear Mount Blocks (pg. 192), Basic Rhinestones (pg. 188).
Well I hope you enjoy it, I think I am going to make a few more and use them as thank you cards. Tomorrow's card will feature another of my new favorites, and as a hint it really is a new color!! Have a great day!!

The Ideas Are Flowing

Good Morning,

Well I am back with a new card today. I got a lot of great ideas over the weekend and I have some stuff to share with you in the coming days!! Today's card is so fun and summery to me, it's cased from a card that my upline received from her up-upline a few months ago.
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay (retired), Mambo Melon DSP (retired).
Stamp Sets: Vintage Vogue (pg. 126)
Ink: Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay Classic Ink
Accessories: Silver Brads (pg. 187), Paper Snips (g. 199), SNAIL Adhesive (pg. 197) and Dimensionals (pg. 197).
Not much in the way of stuff, and it is a pretty simple card but the colors are so much fun, I love them!! The dimensionals really give the flowers some lift and the silver brads add pizazz. Good thing I got some cards made over the weekend becasue I have had to pack up my stamp studio for a few days as I am getting an acoustic ceiling and new lights and some new paint done in there. I am very excitied and I know I promised before to share pictures I really will this time since it will be all 100% complete!! I hope everyone had a great weekend and at least for those of us in the east we are getting a little respite from the stiffling humidity, thank goodness!! I am sure it will be back very, very soon though. Have a great day and I will have another new card tomorrow.

Manly Card

Hi,

Well I am a day late with this card, but hopefully you will still enjoy it. I made this card for my husband just because. This card combines 2 of his favorite things, grilling and playing poker. He loves to grill but never thinks he does a good job, but he always does great!! Here is how this card came together:

Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White

Stamp Sets: King of the Grill (pg. 29 Summer Mini) Item # 120066 Clear Mount
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red Classic Ink
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils (pg. 194), Game Night Designer Series Paper (retired), Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch ( both punches on pg. 203 Catalog)

I love the red, black and white colors together, it looks so rich and fun!! His exact words when he opened the card, "What do you want to buy, now?" I guess he knows me pretty well, but he was the one surprised when I told him I just wanted to make a card for him. He really liked it and was glad I didn't want to buy anything.......... Well as my saying goes what the UPS man delivers before my husband gets home is our little secret.

Well here we are, almost the weekend!! Do you all have big plans??? I do!!! I have a card club tomorrow night at my upline's (Frances) house and then Saturday is going to be a day of creating and crafting with Frances!!! I am so looking forward to that!!! I have been so keyed up about ideas for growing my Stampin' Up business that I can hardly stand it!! Luckily for me Frances is very motivated about her business and a great teacher so she has been teaching me and helping nurture my business!!!! In case I haven't said it enough THANKS!! Really I appreciate it and I am having so much fun!!! Hard to belive this is considered a second job!!!

I will have more to share this weekend after the all the crafting this weekend!!!! have a great weekend and I look forward to sharing new stuff with you Monday!!

Birthday card and Vacation Pics

Good Morning!!!
I have snuck in a few vacation pictures, first is the outside of the Rockin' Roller Coaster (featuring Aerosmith) at Hollywood Studios (one of my very favorite rides), next is Cinderella's Castle at night in the Magic Kingdom. This is my favorite place and my happy place when I need a mental escape!! Next is a picture of Hogwarts Castle in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, I had to sneak that in, it was so much fun and a pretty decent picture!! The last vacation pic is one of me and my hubby in front of Spaceship Earth in Epcot! It's one of the only pics of us together and it is actually a pretty good one. Now for what you all are really here for here is the picture of the card I made for my friend Jen's Birthday. She loves pink and brown so I mixed it up a bit. I did the emboss resist technique on the friends circles and then sponged the pretty in pink and chocolate chip ink over the embossed images, then punched them out with the circle punch. I haven't yet got the Pink Pirouette ink pad (it's on it's way) so I needed to improvise a little bit. I think it turned out OK!! I used the Big Shot for a little texture with the polka dots, I love the embossing folders!! I can't believe I waited for 4 months to get my Big Shot, what was I thinking??? Silly me!!! Here's the details on the card:

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla

Stamp Sets: Simple Friendship (pg. 108) , Occasional Quotes (Level 3 Hostess Set), A Word for You (pg. 158), Perfect Punches (pg. 131)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Very Vanilla Craft Ink, Versa Mark

Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions embossing folders, 2 3/8" Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Stamping Sponges, Chocolate Chip 1" w/white stitching Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), White Embossing Powder, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals.

I am envious of all the demos that are headed to or already in Salt Lake City for the annual Stampin' Up Convention!! Since I was joined in February and we had the Disney trip already planned I couldn't take more time off work so close together, my boss if great but that would have been pushing it!!!! Have a great time and I look forward to hearing all your stories and seeing the wonderful stuff and ideas you got!! Thanks for stopping by, and suffering through a few vacation pictures!! I appreciate it! I will have a card that I made for my hubby to share with you tomorrow!! Have a great day and Happy Stamping!!

TTFN,
Candi

So Sorry!!!

Hi All,

I want to first say welcome and thank you to all my new followers!! WOO HOO!!! Now I have to say I am so sorry. I was on vacation in wonderful Disney World for 10 days so I was out of touch!!! We had a wonderful time, even though it was hot and sticky!! I love Disney and always have fun!! I even got a big surprise from my aunt and we went to Universal Studios and saw the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter!! It was great (if you like the Harry Potter movies and books) the lines were very long, but it was fun!!! I am glad we got to see it, we were like to little kids, running to the rides, the shops, drinking Butterbeer and Pumpkin juice (both were very yummy)!

Now we are back to reality and work and all the stuff that pays the bills and lets me stamp like a fool. :)

I will be posting a new card picture tomorrow, I have to get all the vacation pictures off the camera!! So again I apologize and I promise I will be back on the diligent blog posting starting tomorrow!!

Have a great day and I will see you all tomorrow with a new card I made for my wonderful friend's birthday!!

Oh and one more thing.... Happy Birthday to my wonderful friend Jen B!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day and can't wait to get together and celebrate!!! Love ya little honey.....
